EcoScapes is a unique landscape design firm that synthesizes a vast array of botanical and practical horticultural knowledge, with artistic awareness. Based in Marin County, we offer a full range of design and installation services. Our built projects span an extensive variety of styles, including Eichler homes and atriums, naturalistic gardens highlighting California natives and other Mediterranean plants, dry gardens, tropicals, as well as English perennial cottage gardens.

Garden design is a process that requires interpreting the clients’ wishes, and then bringing them into practical fruition by creating outdoor spaces that both enhance the site and the architectural style of the residence. Owner/Designer Leslie Patten brings an adventurous, artistic spirit combined with nuts and bolts practicality to help you create your personal landscape while celebrating your home’s distinctive site.

Bio
Leslie Patten has been practicing horticulture and design since 1981. Growing up on a 3/4-acre property in Los Angeles, her father liked to travel, bringing home botanical wonders to experiment with in his garden. With gardening in her blood, Leslie combines a love of California’s mild Mediterranean climate and wide diversity of ecosystems, with a passion for horticulture.

She received her degree in landscape horticulture from Santa Rosa Junior College in 1979 and a design certificate from Strybing Arboretum in San Francisco. A two-year, in-depth naturalist program for educators at the College of Marin rounds out her training in natives and local ecology.
